I'm fairly certain at this point that Lori couldn't identify Carl in a freakin' police lineup if he wasn't wearing that big ass hat. She has got to be the top ranked worst TV mom in the history of television. She NEVER knows where that kid is and how many times just this season have people been killed/zombified as a direct result of Carl's actions?

Not just Lori, Rick is a pretty shoddy father too - for example that scene where Shane was telling Rick about how Carl felt guilty and needed to talk to someone and Rick just didn't want to know. I am no great fan of Carl but with parents like those who can blame him? I can't wait for the show to move on to the next location, but if they are going straight to the prison I hope they have a few episodes on the road. This season got very tiresome at the farm the whole time. I'm all for character driven stories but it is harder to watch when I don't like the characters Daryl is the only one I feel like I am really rooting for, and maybe Glenn and Maggie.

I understand what you're saying about Rick but in my opinion, he gets at least a little bit of a free pass as he's dealing with trying to lead the group and such. Lori has to watch Carl, that's pretty much the beginning, middle, and end of her responsibilities.
I just started reading the comic on which the show is based. Picked up a few of the compilations from my local library. Over the weekend, I read through what happens in the comic when they reach that location briefly seen at the end of Season 2. I kinda hope the show stays true to the comics for a bit.
Agreed on Daryl, Glenn, and Maggie. Those are my three favorite characters on the show and the ones I've grown to root for as well.

I wasn't sad to see Shane go, IRL I would've knocked a person liked that to the ground on an hourly basis. On general principles but I am gonna miss the Dale character. *ve yet to watch the final episode so I'm excited as to what "location" that is being referred to here...hehe... Tried to read the graphic novel but I really didn't care for the style of the artwork, it's too simplistic (as opposed to minimal) for my taste, unfortunately :/

Well - Shane lasted a lot longer on the TV series than he did in the books. Dale - not so much....

Thanks, Pupnik, I did not know that. Incidentally I'm going to a big comic store (big in Danish standards) tomorrow, I'll have a look at some later issues then

As I mentioned before, my wife and I are working our way through the trade paperback collections of the comics. We're up to, I think, volume 6? We both agree we actually kind of like the show better than the comics. One of the very few times I've ever decided the video version of a work is better than the original book, I can tell you that for sure.
The characterization just seems to be a bit richer in the show. A little more depth to the characters, that sort of thing.
But, with that said, Lori is obviously a better Mom to Carl in the books, given that she at least sort of knows where he is most of the time.
