I've been meaning to do this for a while, but just kept putting it off. On Megaton.us, I have galleries of post-apocalyptic images and videos, so I figured I might as well see if I can gather up a collection of written media as well.
The Fiction page will probably be modeled on the Videos page; items will be listed in alphabetical order, with a list of all included items in the sidebar. I'm going to try to seed the page with public domain or creative commons stories, but I'd love to be able to include items from other sources as well.
So, this is an open call for anyone who would like to get a little more exposure for their post-apocalyptic writing project, whether that project involves poetry, short stories or even full-length novels. All I ask is that the entire body of the work be available on, or linked from, my site; I wouldn't want to post just an excerpt or sample of a longer item. (One exception to this might be ongoing serial fiction, not sure yet.) And I'm not looking for exclusivity on anything; if you post your fiction on your own site, or anyone else's, I'll still be glad to include it on my site.
So if you're interested in getting your writing in front of a few more eyes, get in touch with me I'll get you set up.

I think it's a great idea. I wish I could post some of my stuff, (I have a PA story in the works) but it would violate the contract I have with my agent unfortunately.

With their recent overhaul Survive The Apocalypse doesn't seem to be using the Mountain and the City story anymore. Not sure why, but if they're done with it and it's not stepping on any toes you can definitely throw it on there.

Yeah, I noticed that. Can you send me the text of the story? I have the Kindle version and might not be able to un-DRM it.

Megaton: I just made "Cathartes Aura and the Apocalypse Zoo" free until I release Episode Two: "Road from Nowhere" in August, so it is yours. 1000 lines of PA novel-in-verse. Could you mention that it is part of a series? www.smashwords.com/books/view/51318

And yes, it is a series, but "Apocalypse Zoo" does stand on its own.

I've got the text. I more meant when you want me to remove it from the Fiction page when you stop giving it away for free. I'll put it up later today probably.

I'm not sure if I'll ever put a price on it again. The "Free In July" thing is just to generate some urgency. Truly, I'm trying to sell book 2 by giving away book 1. I'll let you know if "Apocalypse Zoo" ever gets a price again.
Thanks a megaton for featuring it.

I've been working on this post-apocalyptic blog for about a year. The form consists of a survivor writing down his day-to-day experiences on some notebook paper. He writes a daily entry, which happens to be how my blog's written as well. The monsters are plant-like beasts, which are summoned by a drum every night. When I started the blog I'd write any entry nearly every day, but since then I've cut back to just once or twice a week. I would love for my blog's link to be included on your site or for anyone just to check it out. Here's the link below: greenlanddiary.blogspot.com/Thanks!

I've been reading Patrick's blog story and become quite intrigued with the creatures and their origins and motives. Read the last few entries earlier this evening and am looking forward to more.
