I was wondering what everyone thought about how to handle subjects that could appear on our wiki, but also already exist somewhere else. A good example would be the Wikipedia page List of Apocalyptic and Post-Apocalyptic Fiction. There are two questions then: Should you include that kind of information and then how do you include that kind of information? I'm going to save the technical issues for another thread. On the should you do it side, I had a good exchange on the Wikia support board . Basically, they think it's a bad idea. They say that your wiki should pretty be made up of your own content. But at the same time, when you come to a post-apocalyptic wiki, you'd expect to see a list of post-apocalyptic books. So should we try to pull that kind of content over and integrate it into our wiki, or should we just have a page that links to external sources and keep our side to the articles that we create?
