I've been writing on and off since I was about 14, banging out stories in dog-eared notebooks purely for myself and my own pleasure. About six months ago, I decided to write something a little more substantial. I am now about 55,000 words into a story set in PA Illinois. Now I have been looking around some of the posts on this site and I understand that some posters are successful authors in this genre. So here is my question.
I have recently been in search of some critique in order to polish and improve my writing skills as I approach the halfway mark in my narrative. I was wondering if I was to post parts of it here, on this forum, would there be anyone willing to give it a read and give me their thoughts on it? It is currently in its first draft, and will require a lot of work before I am satisfied.
Let me know if anyone would like to have a read of it.

Rather than posting tens of thousands of words on this forum, I'll put in a link to a website called Authonomy, where I have been uploading my story. The link takes you straight to it, no need to search. And if you decide to read it please remember it is an early draft. So expect some small continuity errors and suchlike. Other than that please enjoy. authonomy.com/books/58606/the-long-walk-alone/read-book/#chapter

My suggestion is that you post chapters to Google Docs and then share. Then go to Goodreads.com create an account and find some groups to join. Then make a post asking for beta readers. There is an apocalypse group at Goodreads. You can post the links or if someone volunteers to read, you can send them a chapter or maybe the whole thing. If you don't have Calibre you should download it, so you can convert your manuscript to various formats, such as mobi for the kindle and epub for android based tablets.
You should also post it here, chapter by chapter to make it easier read. Make sure you add spaces between paragraphs.
