Has anyone watched SnowPiercer yet? It's available on Amazon.

I'm going to rent it, but it won't become available before September. Bummer. I wanted to watch it anyway and recently met with someone from the sound crew of the movie, so I thought "why didn't I watch it yet? Oh right..." Did anyone read the comic on which it's based?

The comic was originally in French. An English version just came out this year, but I'm not sure what other languages it's already been published in.
I watched the movie a month or so ago. It was ok, but it did feel like a comic book movie. Some aspects were just a little over the top.
And if you've read the WOOL books, you're going to see a lot of parallels between what happens on the train and the uprisings in the silos.
But the movie got generally good reviews so I'm going to have to watch it again to see what I might have missed the first time.

I watched it last night! I liked it, although some bits were - intentionally - slightly over the top. The whole movie had a kind of surrealistic vibe, I liked that although it produced a few situations where logic was not really applied. As far as I know, the story has almost nothing to do with the comic book except for the background setting, but I liked it. Not too bland, not too complex. Technically, the movie is well-made - I can only recommend it!

[MINOR SPOILERS]
Gotta say, I loved this movie to the moon and back. Loved the cinematography, loved the story, but mostly loved the perfect poetic absurdity of the pregnant schoolteacher with a basket of eggs in one hand and a machine gun in the other. Heavy-handed, but in the BEST way (like most of the movie tbh).
