The BBC is going to be releasing a new series which sounds interesting.
It looks like a mix between Being human and The Walking Dead, it focuses on the zombies gaining their humanity but still being seen as monsters.

I am really sorry to lose Being Human (and I loved the new cast even more than the old one!) but this does look interesting, it looks a little like The Fades which I also enjoyed. I hope they give it a longer life than they gave The Fades.

So did anyone watch the first episode? I'm going to let all three eps air before I try to track them down I think. Since they're each only an hour long (I think) it won't be hard to take them all in in one binge session.

Since they're each only an hour long (I think) it won't be hard to take them all in in one binge session. Watched the first one. Firstly the good stuff. I thought it a very clever idea and its obviously offers the writers all sorts of modern issues/concerns/debates to bring to the fore which for me is the point of anything 'Zombie'. All good Zombie fiction has to be allegorical in my not so humble opinion because otherwise they are just another form of bogey men. Nothing wrong with that per se but Zombies have to be so much more than the risen dead. The not so good stuff is that I fear it might suffer from the curse of modern day BBC drama production which is the need to tick all the diversity boxes. Still thats some of my own prejudices coming to the fore as well so lets see how it goes.

I saw the first and quite enjoyed it (that ending was quite freaky, best part of the episode i thought) but completely forgot to watch it on sunday. Damn. BBC iPlayer here i come i guess.

Not sure what you mean about the diversity issues, Matov, but I felt that the biggest weakness was that it dragged a little at the beginning, the pacing seemed a bit off to me - I think they could have cut 10 minutes and made it a tighter story. Still, it is an interesting idea and I'm curious to see where they take it. I haven't watched the second episode yet, I'll probably watch 2 and 3 together.

Saw about half the first episode. It was okay...ish. I thought the most exciting thing were the flashbacks to the supermarket. Everything else had more of a mild melodrama flavour. It's still on iplayer at present, might give it another go but not too sure about it yet.
