I am trying to find a MOLLE assault pack to make a bug out bag. My job cut my days, so low on cash. Willing to trade WWII (1943)Mountain Backpack. I am in Oregon if that helps. Attachments:

I love the WWII M1941 packs - I have about 6 of them. If you pad the shoulders with cheap shoulder pads from another pack, replace the waistbelt with a padded ALICE, and add a sternum strap, they are very comfy, will carry a lot, and have that cool, PA loner look. I tension the waistbelt the original way, behind itself, so that it just rides against my back. the sternum strap should be mounted low, almost at the belly. If you do this right, you'll find it makes a great BoB. Not tacticool, but effective. It's also cooler to carry as there is a lot of room behind your back - I can stick my entire arm back there with it on. I plan on mounting a backup handgun back there for SHTF.

Post a link to where you got them maybe? Or post a pic of one that you have modified for reference.
