"We" by Yevgeny Zamyatin en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_(novel)I'm wondering how well known this novel is to modern post apocalyptic enthusiasts. I read it a few years back and thought it was pretty unique to most dystopian fiction I've read. I'm doing a short film at the moment that's partially influenced by this book. So that's where my curiosity comes into play as to how familiar people are with it compared to more commonly known literature, ie... 1984 and such. Attachments:

I've heard of it, but I've never read it. I like to read non-American descriptions of dystopias or apocalypses, but the combination of translation and the 1920's writing style always kept me away from this on.
Maybe I'll give it a try someday. Are there any particular translations that are better than others?

I have this and I did start reading it at one point but it was at a time when I was reading the first chapter or two of several books to see what I was in the mood for and I didn't carry on with it. I will have to pick it up again soon as I do like dystopias.

I read it years ago. I remember enjoying it. Reminded me of 1984, Logan's Run and Things to Come. Read it because it (supposedly) influenced Orwell. I can believe it.
