Hi. I'm looking for The Quiet Earth by Craig Harrison. The book not the movie. Does anyone know where you could find a e-book or maybe a audioversion of this book? thanks.

Yeah, and does anyone know if it's even any good? I heard it's a bit different from the movie, which would be ok since I didn't love the film.
I saw on other forums that original copies sell for well over $100, if you can even find one. With that kind of demand you'd think they'd re-publish it for us.

So it's THAT hard to find. I'm a cheap bastard and download everything these days. I hoped that there was a e-book or audiobook out there somewere hidden in the depths of internet. I have heard that it's pretty good though it differs from the movie a bit. If I could get my hands on one copy I would do my best to spread it. Anyway I will check and see if any Swedish library has it.

@ King of the Wastes en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Quiet_EarthThere is a movie with the same name that is based on the novel. @ Mr Mega I think that's a great idea. I would definitely be in on that. I will keep my eyes open for a more less expensive copy.

i'd take a chunk of that action too ... have to figure a lottery as to who'd keep it perhaps.

It would be a shame if it happened to get all cut up and fall into a scanner...

Thats just crazy, for a book that isn't even that old to. Probably not even signed or a first edition.

It would be a shame if it happened to get all cut up and fall into a scanner... I wouldn't cut it up but I would most likely scan it and spread it on the internet as an e-book so everybody could read it sharing is caring.

It's so expensive because it's so rare. It was published in New Zealand, with a relatively small printing, and there just isn't that many copies floating around out there. I'm guessing it's not anything special, but the fact that there are plenty of PA collectors out there keep it in demand enough to keep the price up. Unfortunately I don't think there are enough people interested in PA books to justify a second printing, but we can always hope. Maybe the movie will drum up enough interest for a second printing.
