Has anyone seen Fahrenheit 451? (1966) And could you tell me if the movie version was any good? I saw a clip of it in a media class, but the clip was barely five minutes long, with only the opening credits. I've read the book recently and am interested if the movie version is good or not?

I seem to remember seeing a movie of it at some time, but the one on Netflix from 1966 doesn't look familiar. Not sure if that's the only movie they made of it or not.
But it's available on instant streaming so I'll probably check it out one of these evenings.

I saw the 1966 film some time back and as far as I know, the planned 1990s remake still hadn't been finished or started or something... as of 2010. I remember thinking that the movie was a bit dated but overall I enjoyed it enough to think I'd watch it again sometime in the future. I've no idea how faithful it is to the book but the story came across well enough to understand what was going on (it must have, everything I know of Fahrenheit 451 is what I remember from the movie!)

Equilibrium was a thinly disguised version of it IMO. Great flick though.
