Anyone else going to brave Zombie Apocalypse on Syfy tonight? It looks horrible but for some reason I think it will be entertaining.
"ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE is an action packed adventure about a band of humans trying to survive a post-apocalyptic world full of flesh-hungry zombies. Months after a zombie plague has wiped out 90 percent of the American population, a small group of survivors fight their way cross-country to a rumored refuge on the island of Catalina."

Catalina, a safe haven for survivors. That humors me.

LOL! Wow was this bad or what. Ving Rhames and the Crabman.....oh the horror. Still...I watched it, so what does that say about me.

Yes....Yes it is. Lets just say that any movie with Zombies where the phrase, "It's a trap. They were waiting for us", is spoken....has got to be bad. Any movie where the zombies dodge and jump out of the way of strikes....suxors.

I think it was pretty good for what it was. I didn't realize until afterwards that it's by Asylum, the MegaShark vs Gian Octopus and MegaShark vs Crocosaurus people, and I got a kick out of both of those also.
So if you adjust your expectations accordingly, I definitely think it's worth watching.

The tigers killed me. Was it "One"(Conrad Williams) that had the zombie Tiger?

I have to say that was nowhere near as bad as I expected it to be. It was what it was, and I was really impressed with the post apocalyptic/zombie landscape they created. To be honest, for all its faults, other low budget filmmakers could learn a lot from the cinematography used to create the fictional world. And I've suffered through some bad movies.

I did think the idea of the government using EMPs around the country to slow the spread of the infection was interesting. I can't see that really happening, since it would permanently set the country back a century, even if the zombies are defeated, but it did add an extra layer of plausibility for why they had to walk everywhere.

lest we forget... they also made Transmorphers Not forgetting 'the da vinci treasure', 'the day the earth stopped' and 'I am Omega'. Actually the last one wasn't too bad, I managed to watch at least half of it.. The premise of their films always outdoes the outcome.

Found myself in a snow bound London town on Sunday and had this film lined up for some time so decided to give it a go.
Where to start.......
I would love to say that it was so bad it was good but it really was just not quite bad enough.
What I dont understand is how a script can be so poor. Special effects, then fair enough, if you aint got the budget you aint got the budget. Personally I think that its daft to go for gore if you cannot afford it and there are enough tricks of use to build up the suspense without it but in terms of a script, well it can hardly cost more than say $100 to get together enough pens, paper and printer ink. So thats not the issue.
I dont say this lightly but I KNOW that almost any of us could come up with something better than that. Sit yourself down in an office with big white board, start off with a basic idea of a story (and a group of survivors fighting their way to a dock to be rescued is hardly an original one) and work your way from there.
It was like they made it up as they went along which is fine in a novel but in a film, well surely its ALL about the preperation with every scene story boarded in advance ? Or am I missing something ?
They must have had at least the semblence of a budget as there were a couple of reasonably well known actors in it but that plot line and characterisation was piss poor on all sorts of levels.
Still I should not be so snotty about it but for me it was representative of the very worst of the Zombie genre.

Any movie where the zombies dodge and jump out of the way of strikes....suxors. haha this.! Looks really "hollywood" if you know what I mean. But I'm sure it's still worth a watch when you're bored. Thats just the way these kind of movies are, nothing like 28 days later, looks more like a unhumoristic Zombieland ;D
